Professors Joaquín Gairín Sallán and José Luís Muñoz Moreno, members of CRiEDO, are the authors of the book “Plans and Programs for Educational Transformation: Institutional Approaches in Schools”, a work that examines how planning can become a key tool to drive the transformation of educational institutions.
With a critical and applied approach, the text explores the different levels of planning —strategic, tactical, and operational— and proposes intervention models that integrate quality, participation, and adaptability. The book delves into the coherence of institutional documents that shape school life: educational project, curricular project, organizational and operational rules, annual general program, budget, school report, and didactic programming. It also addresses essential issues such as management in uncertain contexts, organizational complexity, teacher participation in defining educational policies, and coherence across different decision-making levels.
In addition, it includes practical monitoring and evaluation tools —such as GANTT charts, PERT diagrams, and dashboards— useful for pedagogical and organizational management.
Target audience:
- Undergraduate and master’s students interested in the institutional functioning of schools.
- Doctoral students working on management, planning, or educational innovation.
- Teachers involved in pedagogical coordination or leadership roles.
- Education researchers analyzing processes of change and institutional improvement.
