On November 6, 2024, during the International Seminar on Strategic Planning and Internal Quality Assurance Systems in Higher Education, organized by Telescopi Nodo Chile and sponsored by CRUCH, the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso was awarded for its outstanding interdisciplinary management practice in the Master’s Program in Leadership and Management in School Organizations.
This recognition is especially significant for CRiEDO, as the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso maintains a close collaboration with our center, sharing knowledge and best practices in educational management.
The practice has trained 265 new master’s graduates in 12 cohorts, with a dropout rate of 3.7% and a graduation rate of 93%. Additionally, 82% of the graduates have secured leadership positions, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness.
The distinctive elements of the practice include:
- Organizational Structure: Managed by the Faculty of Education, with a Steering Council and an interdisciplinary Academic Committee.
- Joint Conceptualization: Integration of pedagogy and engineering to address school leadership and management.
- Curriculum Design: Modular approach with workshops on leadership skills and a final activity reflecting interdisciplinary interaction.
- Community Engagement: Involvement of school leaders, graduates, and professors in the External Feedback Council and the Interdisciplinary Program for Sustainable School Improvement.
- Research and Publications: Projects and publications disseminating the interdisciplinary experience, such as articles and books on school leadership training.
The interdisciplinary practice of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso stands out for its management structure, academic coordination, and training quality. It has successfully trained school leaders capable of promoting continuous improvement in their areas of action, aligning with the university’s mission to train professionals of excellence.
This award reaffirms the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and CRiEDO, and we are proud to see how these initiatives contribute to improving educational quality at an international level.
