Cecilia Ines Suarez, PhD candidate of EDO-UAB , participates in the Sixth Educational Research Seminar "Dialogues for understanding and improving education."
On 19, 20 and Nov. 21 re held in the city of Lima on Educational Research Seminar VI "Dialogues for understanding and improving education " co-organized by the Department of Education, the Center for Research and Education and Program Services Masters and Doctorate of Education Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru , in which part of the same national and international exhibitors around the following areas : school curriculum , teacher training , school management and education in Higher Education.
In the latter, will present the lecture " Trajectories academic and college experiences of indigenous students in higher education " by Cecilia Inés Suárez , PhD , Department of Applied Education and member of EDO.
The paper is part of the doctoral thesis " The retention of students belonging to indigenous groups in higher education institutions in Latin America" co-directed by Drs Gairín and Diego Joaquín Castro , that is also linked to the Project ACCEDES "Access and Success vulnerable groups academic risk environments in Latin America " ( European Commission DCI-ALA/2011/232- III_ ALFA ) Group coordinated by the EDO.
ACCESSING Project , its members , partners and collaborating institutions , has consolidated matters relating to theoretical and methodological development of the doctoral thesis considering that the contributions from the same target fits ACCESSING to : improve access and egress promoting academic Higher Education in environments vulnerable groups risk of social exclusion in Latin America.
The paper presents the identification of a number of dimensions of the academic and college experience of students belonging to indigenous peoples in higher education institutions as well as preliminary results from fieldwork.
Also part of the dissemination activities ACCEDES Project and is expected to continue and strengthen allow inclusion activities already underway in Latin American universities.
