How do university teachers use digital technologies in class?
The aim of the research has been to find out how the teaching staff uses digital technologies, identifying the tools that they normally integrate, the frequency of use that they do, and the factors that affect this integration.
The results show that teachers apply basic tools such as visual presentations or video platforms. However, the use of social networks, the presence of blogs or interactive software are elements used by less than a third of teachers.
On the other hand, the frequency of the use of ICT is low and rarely mentioned in the guides, a fact that is linked to the tendency to internal factors such as lack of technological competence, age and experience. For this reason, the study concludes with a need of change in university education regarding teaching methodologies, with practices that help teachers to integrate digital technologies successfully.
