On the afternoon of October 29, 2025, the seventh edition of the Diploma of Specialization in Digital Teaching Competence began, organized by the Center for Research and Studies for Organizational Development under the direction of Joaquín Gairín and Aleix Barrera.
In this first session, in addition to organizing some activities to facilitate group cohesion, two work sessions were held. The first, coordinated by Professor David Rodríguez-Gómez, aimed to address some basic concepts that should help lay the necessary foundations to critically use the more concrete and operational strategies and tools that will be offered in the rest of the postgraduate modules; the second, coordinated by Professor Aleix Barrera-Corominas, focused on presenting the reference frameworks for the development of Digital Teaching Competence, paying special attention to the European Framework, as well as the 5 dimensions for methodological digital competence identified by the Department of Education. The session also served to reflect on the participants’ prior training.
The Diploma of Specialization offers its participants the necessary tools to design universal learning environments incorporating digital technologies, as well as the elements of analysis and reflection to promote the integration of these technologies both in the organizational and didactic fields. The program has faculty with extensive research and professional experience related to digital technologies. Upon completion, a degree is awarded by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, one of the best European universities according to the main international rankings, certifying C2 level knowledge in this field.
