The initial training of teachers in the case of Chile, establishes training in competencies in the formation of its curricular structure. This approach has a non-disciplinary design, which is why it is more oriented toward professional performance. The objective of this research is to analyze the development of professional teaching competencies during the Practicum period of initial university training for the Physical Education major. In a case study and through sequential administration; of a questionnaire, interviews and discussion groups. The results show sensitive levels of development in the competencies analyzed, they are developed differently depending on the Practicum typology, although there are conditions and factors that may affect the achievement of the levels established in the training plan.
