Teaching Quality Improvement (MQD)

The Group of EDO has received funding from AGAUR for the project ¨Guidance and Tutorial in Professional Practice:Protocols of proceedings and definition of standards of quality¨ under the framework of projects of Educational Quality Improvement.
The guidance and support to students during their stay in university is a topic relevant to the current situation and of special interests for institutional leaders who are worried about the recruitment, retention and improvement of academic performance of university students. In addition, it is consider to be an indicator of quality as it has been proven that a part of learning achievement is resulted from good management of academic guidance and tutorial services.
To serve this need, the aim of EDO is to continue the research started years ago in tutorial en university, attention to students in transition from secondary school to university, as well as the analysis of causes of drop-out from university. The purposes of the presented project, in which teachers participate in the Departments of Clinical Psychology and Health and the Faculty of Spanish Philology at the UAB and in the Department of Signal Theory and Communications (TSC) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, are:
- To analyse and define the nature and direction of professional practice
- To synthesize and analyze the performance and problems of professional practice
- To structure protocols of proceedings in professional practices.
- To define and validate standards of quality regarding to professional practice
At one hand, it aims to deepen the knowledge of real world, with the intention of identifying patterns of common and differentiated explanation in order to establish models to derive those indicators and standards of quality as protocols of proceeding besides the patterns themselves.
