On February 2nd, Rubén Capetillo Velásquez read his doctoral PhD thesis about Methodologies and strategies for evaluations.

The thesis prepared by Rubén Capetillo Velásquez, entitled “Methodologies and strategies for evaluations applied in the classroom by the professor of the University of Tarapacá. A study of the case ”, has been directed by Dr. Joaquín Gairín Sallán, and will be defended by the court formed by María Mercedes Gisbert Cervera (Rovira i Virgili University) acting as President, Diego Castro Ceacero (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Actuant as secretary and Primitivo Sánchez Delgado (Complutense University of Madrid) acting as vocal.

The doctoral thesis "Methodologies and evaluation strategies applied in the classroom by the professorat of the University of Tarapacá. A home study", is linked to the line of Research on Undevelopment of Professionals.

The work carried out by Cepetillo has investigated the dynamic structure, the relationship systems and the reasons that motivate the performance of the university professors. L'anàlisi d'aquest particular social phenomena tries to discover the social meanings and interpret the ideas of the seves actions, experiences and opinions that develop the seva activitat docent dins de l’aula universitària.

It is convenient to point out that in the XV Xilena ruled there are no previous recourses that have tried to analyze who are the pedagogical competencies of academics. This is the goal that will motivate the completion of this doctoral thesis, which considers as an objective not only to determine the methods that university teachers undertake, but also the seves didactic competencies and the seva way of assessing the apprenticeships of their students. In short, the document presentat proposes who are the paths that should lead to a pedagogical innovation in the context of analysis, allowing the transition from a traditional teaching model to a constructivist and integrating model.
