David Rodríguez-Gómez, EDO-UAB member, is the author of “Knowledge Management and Improvement of Education Organizations”.
La Muralla Publisher has just added in their catalogue, a book entitled “Knowledge Management and Improvement of Education Organizations”, which author is David Rodríguez-Gómez, an EDO-UAB member.
This publication, which emerge from his doctoral thesis “Creation and Management Knowledge in education organizations: barriers and facilitators”, presents contemporary and the most meaningful challenges that education institutions must assume concerning to organizational processes, highlighting certain aspects such as the need of a great internal and external opening that could allow the establishment of collaboration networks; or the required structural modifications that flexibility should give to all organizations for promoting innovation and cultural changes.
Rodríguez-Gómez presents Knowledge Management as a strategy that is closely linked toinnovation and organizational development; and emerges as an important practise and research field in organizational sphere. The process development of Knowledge Creation and Management in education organizations may make a qualitative leap in the way of understanding this kind of institutions, as well as in the quality of their processes and results.
However, the author considers that there are few experiences and proposals related to this kind of strategies from an educational perspective, and specifically, from organization and school management.
The work “Knowledge Management and Improvement of Education Organizations” wants, on one hand, to cover the emptiness in the field about knowledge management and organization development for y from this sphere of education organizations; and on the other hand, to integrate into the same work some of the main disciplines related to knowledge management such as organizational development, organizational learning, professional development, organizational culture and Intellectual capital, among others.
