Innovation in schools

EDO group members participate in a training session with the aim of reflecting and debating about innovation in schools.
Yesterday, Thursday 24th of October, was held the last meeting of teachers of the field of organization. These meetings take place regularly in order to reflect and discuss current issues of interest related to the educational organization. During the meeting proposals and initiatives about "Innovation in Education" were reviewed in relation to the recent experiences of some team members:
"Tools for Change" program promoted by the Education Consortium of Barcelona; presented by Empar García (school inspector and associate professor in the Dept. of Applied Pedagogy).
- "Educational innovation and pedagogical system in school" participatory debate organized by the Catalan Society of Pedagogy; presented by Marita Navarro (Doctor in Education and emeritus professor in the Dept. of Applied Pedagogy).
- "Innovation, schools and municipalities"; XXIV Local Education Forum as a debate promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council; presented by Esther Salat (Councillor for Education of the City of Sant Cugat del Vallès and associate professor in the Dept. of Applied Pedagogy).-
In addition, initiatives that follow the line of educational innovation were also discussed, such as "New School 21" program, an initiative promoted by UNESCO Centre of Catalunya, Jaume Bofill Foundation, Open University of Catalunya and eduCaixa. The debate generated around this project turned in relation to innovation and educational excellence, linked to what we could call as "inclusive schools". At this point, relevant aspects were discussed related to the current social issues, equity and school for all.
During this call it was also presented the progress made about the project "Development of a rubric for the specialization " Management training and Socio-educational Institutions "project in which the entire group of teachers in the field of educational organization are involved. This teaching innovation project, coordinated by professors Marina Tomàs and Maria del Mar Duran, aims to develop a rubric for systematizing the achievement levels of dimensions derived from the competences from this specialization.
