MQD Project Grant: Guidance and tutorial in professional practices. Protocols of actuation and delimitation of standards of quality .

In May, the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) of the Generalitat of Catalonia approved the draft "Protocols of actuation and delimitation of standards of quality", which is coordinated by Prof. Joachim Gairín (EDO) and with the participation of teachers from different faculties and departments of UAB and UPC.
The guidance and student support during their stay in college is a current topic of particular interest for institutional leaders concerned about the recruitment, retention and improvement of academic performance of university students. It is also considered as an indicator of quality when it is found that a part of learning achievement is the result of good organization of guidance services and academic tutoring
In the case of UAB, it has advanced the processes of reflexion, organization and development of the practice in some degree, as the case of coordinated projects MPI (Model of Practice Integrator) in the case of Education, which have been coordinated by Professor Margarita Massot (2007) and have been participated by two members of the same team, in the project, however, it will attempt to identify the commonalities and differences of Health Sciences, Experimental and Technological Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, with the intention of identifying different models of professional practices and establishing appropriate standards for its evaluation and improvement.
The issues that will be answered are: how to realize professionalized practices, how can they do that?, Can minimum criterias be generally set for all of them? What are the criterias and different shapes depending on the setting of training? How to know if you do it well or not? What indicators and standards allow us to speak about good practice? Can guidance be given for setting up, development and evaluation of professionalized practices?
Answering these questions is reasonable as a responsible response to the permanent intention of improvement which we conduct as training institution, but also has a strategic sense of projection to society and professional associations of which the best framework for the realization of professionalized practices is the training curriculum and the link to external activities that the university plans for its development.
