Follow-Up Meeting

On March the 8th and the 9th takes the place the follow-up meeting of ACCESS4ALL in the University of Jyväskylän (Finlandia).
ACCESS4ALL project “Laboratory for Policies and Practices of Social Development in Higher Education” started officially last September the 1st 2015. In this meeting, where professors Gairín and Rodríguez-Gómez attend, the objective is to analyze the state of development of the different activities planned during the first year of execution of the project, and especially the actions related to analyze the system of accompaniment of non-usual students and vulnerable groups in higher education. Likewise, it is intended to create the protocol for collecting and systematize Good Practices in attending the groups selected by every country that participates in the project.
The project, coordinated by EDO-UAB, and funded by European Commission through Erasmus Plus program (Ref. 2015‐1‐ES01‐KA203‐015970), joins forces with Univerity of Bristol (UK), la Università degli Studi di Bergamo (Italy), la Universitatea din Bucareşti (Rumania), el Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (Portugal) y la Jyväskylän Yliopisto (Finland).
The main objective that pursues the project is to Foster equity and inclusion facilitating Access to students in a disadvantage situation and with less opportunities tan their equals; and it is addressed in 4 specific objectives: (1) to establish a map with the institutional policies for attending to vulnerable groups in relation to academic access and success; (2) to establish guidelines to be implemented by higher education organizations to promote initiatives aimed to encourage the access and successful development of students who are under-represented in universities; (3) to co-create strategies and measures promoting the access, permanence (and success) of vulnerable students and non-traditional learners at university; (4) to create a laboratory for the creation of innovative and flexible strategies in order to promote social commitment of Higher Education institutions in relation with the most vulnerable student groups.
