The final report of EAPC-funded project has been delivered
The team EDO presented the project report funded by the School of Public Administration of Catalonia, “Analysis of procedures of the creation and management of knowledge through communities of practice in Public Administration (GAP/2944/2010 ) ”on September 29th.
The purpose of the research was to analyze the processes creation and management of knowledge in communities of practice generated in the field of public administration, with the use of intensive technology and the aim of defining the factors of success of analyzed communities to create a map of best practices, intervention protocols and standards of quality.
The method used for the research was case study. Multiple-case study was particularly used which has generated organizational innovation (processes CGC) adopted for some organizations or communities (individual cases), however, what actually matters was the comprehensive study of all of them. As Yin (2009) indicated, these multiple-case studies are more robust and consistent than individual-case study.
The results of this research have allowed the identification of indicators, the establishment fo the best practice standards and the creation of a Self-evaluation Guide for improving existing communities of practice or the ones created in the area of public administration.
It is important to emphasize on the active participation in the project of the moderators and participants of communities of practice of the Department of Justice and Health Protection Agency of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
