UAB rises more than 150 positions in the ranking of The Times Higher Education

UAB has been situated between the 201st and 225th positions in the ranking of The Times Higher Education this year, advancing with more than 150 positions than the situation in last year's ranking (368th).
The UAB is the only Spanish university that has improved its position in the ranking of last year and it is only surpassed by another state institution. In addition, UAB has become one of the top 100 European universities.
By category, UAB is the university of the highest ranking in Spain in the fields of teaching and research, and the second in internationalization and in obtaining private funding for research.
The ranking is led by the California Institute of Technology, which surpassed second place winner, Harvard University, who had been the top 1 for the six previous years. This year again, the top ten remain occupied exclusively by American and British institutions.
The analysis method used in The Times Higher Education World University Ranking (THE WUR) includes thirteen indicators which refer to five major categories: teaching (which has portion of 30% on aggregate), research (30% ), number of citations (30%), exchange of students and teaching and research staff (7.5%) and transference of knowledge and Innovation (2.5%).
