On December 18th, Ana Milena Barquero de Avanza read her doctoral thesis.

The thesis prepared by Ana Milena Barquero de Avanza, entitled "University pedagogical management strategies in Business Administration careers and related to its nomenclature in the Huetar Caribe-Atlantic Region of Costa Rica", has been directed by Dr. Maria del Mar Duran Bellonch. The thesis was defended before the tribunal formed by María Mercedes Gisbert Cervera (Rovira i Virgili University) acting as President, Carmen Armengol Aspar (Autonomous University of Barcelona), acting as secretary and Isabel del Arco Bravo (University of Lleida), acting as vocal .

The doctoral thesis called: "University pedagogical management strategies in Business Administration careers and related to its nomenclature in the Huetar Caribe-Atlantic Region of Costa Rica", was born from the following question: What and how are management strategies university pedagogy according to the experiences of teachers, students and coordinators of Business Administration careers and similar in their nomenclature of academic offerings, in the universities that have a presence in the Huetar Caribe Atlántica region of Costa Rica?

Its objectives are: to analyze the strategies of university pedagogical management and the development of training projects, research and social projection in Business Administration careers and similar in their nomenclature of academic offer, in the universities of the Atlantic Caribbean Region of Costa Rica. In addition to designing a university pedagogical management model that includes specific pedagogical strategies for the Huetar Caribbean-Atlantic Region of Costa Rica to improve the quality of higher education. For this purpose, an educational research is carried out, with a qualitative approach to learn from the experiences, opinions and perceptions of the study subjects how is the university pedagogical management process in a culturally rich region, but with great economic and social.

In this sense, given the problem detected in the region under study, the theory is first explored through various databases and then the field is observed through the case study (qualitative study). The analysis of the data suggests the conceptualization of pedagogical management in the universities of the region to understand how the university teaching process is carried out. Consequently, a planning model for university pedagogical management is proposed, which includes a set of interrelated and interdependent aspects that originate from the mission and vision of university centers.
