The eleventh edition of the ranking for Spanish universities produced by the CyD Foundation places the UAB in first position and gives it the largest number of high performance indicators of the 81 universities analysed.
The CyD Foundation has presented the results of the eleventh edition of the CyD ranking for Spanish universities. This ranking is drawn up in association with the U-Multirank international ranking, with which it shares the methodological principles and most of the indicators, adding some more appropriate indicators for the Spanish university system. This edition includes the results of 81 universities, 30 fields of knowledge and 3,407 degrees.
The ranking evaluates the performance of the universities based on the result obtained in 36 indicators, both for the institutional classification and for the classification of the 30 areas of knowledge.
The UAB is once again the university with the largest number of high performance indicators in the entire State, with a total of 21 indicators in this category. The criteria are structured in five dimensions: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and involvement in the environment.
In terms of teaching and learning, UAB is in the high performing group in 3 out of 11 indicators: degree graduation rates, degree achievement rate and degree success rate. It is ranked among the universities with an intermediate performance in terms of students per teacher, teacher qualification and average grade of new entrants.
In terms of research, the UAB is also in the group of universities with a high performance in 6 of the 8 indicators: external research funds liquidated, external funds raised, doctoral theses, publications by PDI, highly cited publications and postdocs. It is placed in the middle performance group in normalized impact of publications and publications in open access.
Regarding the transfer of knowledge, the UAB is in the high performance group in 2 of the 3 indicators: publications with companies and publications cited in patents. As for the private funds indicator, it is in the average performance group.
In terms of international orientation, the UAB is in the high performance group in 4 of the 8 indicators: mobility of degree students, foreign professors, doctoral theses of foreign students and international publications. In international research funds and internships abroad it is placed in the intermediate performance group.
The UAB presents a high performance in 2 of the 5 indicators of contribution to regional development: internships in companies in the region and publications with companies in the region, and presents an intermediate performance in regional publications and regional research funds.
Finally, the UAB presents a high performance in 4 of the 10 indicators related to employment: rate of affiliation to Social Security (after 1 year), rate of affiliation to Social Security (after 1 year) , Social Security membership fee (after 1 year) and Social Security membership fee (after 1 year). It has, on the other hand, an average performance in rate of freelancers (after 1 year), rate of indefinite contracts (after 1 year), rate of indefinite contracts (after 4 years) and rate of indefinite contracts (past 4 years).
