Success in programmes of Educational development

Today, Silvia Retamal Cisterna presented her doctoral thesis entitled "Analysis of the conditions for success of a programme of educational development. Project: Educational Support and Strengthening in Direct Management and Professional Teaching Competencies. AECID Coyhaique, Chile."
Under the title "Analysis of the conditions for success of a programme of educational development. Project: Educational Support and Strengthening in Direct Management and Professional Teaching Competencies. AECID Coyhaique, Chile." Silvia Retamal Cisterna presented her doctoral thesis today, the directors of which have been Joaquin Gairín and Diego Castro. The objective of this thesis was to analyse that under what conditions the change in education may happen and to determine to what extent these conditions are met in the municipal schools in the town of Coyhaique. More specifically, it has:
- To determine the conditions that influence the success of educational development, specifying a comprehensive assessment model for it which allows deep knowledge of the context of action and identify the major conditions of change.
- To conduct a literature review and research results about educational change to establish what are the institutional and territorial conditions that are repeated over and over again and to determine the changes in education.
- To analyse to what extent these conditions are met through the experiences of these school boards and to find out what the conditions are for the change that characterizes schools of Coyhaique.
The committee, including Manuel Lorenzo (Universidad de Granada), acting as president, Carme Tolosana (UAB), who acted as secretary and Mario Martin Bris (University of Alcala), acting as a member, has evaluated the thesis according to the qualification of APTO CUM LAUDE.
Silvia Retamal is collaborator of th team EDO Team of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, having participated in the project "Educational Support and Strengthening in Direct Management and Professional Teaching Competencies" funded by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation and Development, which goes on at the same time with the thesis that she has presented .
