Self-regulated learning through the use of feedback

Publication of the results of an EDO group project about how to increase self-regulated learning in the students through feedback.
The International Journal of Educational Research has published an article about how to increase self-regulation learning through the use of written feedback in higher education. The authors of the piece are the doctors in education and pedagogy Georgeta Ion, Elena Cano-García and Maite Fernández-Ferrer.
The publication shows the results of the project "Design, implementation and evaluation of sustainable feedforward proposals" that is carried out between 2014 and 2015. This was coordinated by the doctor in Philosophy and Education Sciences Elena Cano-Garía and was funded by the University of Barcelona.
The objective of the proposal was to create good feedback by creating self-assessment processes among students to assess the quality of their work. These have acquired criteria to judge their work so that the execution of the same is more efficient. The results of the research also show the need to transfer the protagonism of the tutors to the students so that they themselves are the judges of their own learning process.
On the other hand, to emphasize that the EDO group is currently finalizing a project, linked to the same line of work, entitled "Assessment strategies between peers and feedback for the improvement of competences in the training of students of Sciences of the Education."
The main objectives of this project follow the line of encouraging the participation of the students in their learning process as well as analyzing the role that feedback between peers and feedforward can have in the academic performance of the students. In addition, a new application has been submitted in order to continue in this line of work that tries to interrelate Teaching Innovation with the Research of the EDO group.
