Educational challenges of the 21st century

25 Professors from the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico will be at the UAB during the month of July debating aspects related to education today
During the next month of July, sessions will be held whose purpose is to debate and point out solutions to the challenges presented to us by a globalized world, where phenomena such as the growing mobility of populations and access to information have reached a unknown scale and cannot go unattended in the world of school. To achieve this, the objectives set are:
- Provide specialized and updated knowledge on education and didactic applications to the classroom and educational center.
- Promote reflection and innovation in the field of educational sciences and in specific didactics.
- Promote the exchange of experiences between participants.
The focuses of analysis refer to the educational system, the curriculum and the institutional organization. The curriculum, as a concretion of experiences aimed at the training of citizens, is thus considered a meeting space between the demands that society makes on the educational system and the forms of organization that it adopts at the institutional level.
More specifically, the development of the sessions will address the following general contents:
- Problems and challenges of educational systems, relating them to the educational problems that it aims to solve.
- Design and development of the curriculum, emphasizing competency-based approaches and the use of ICT.
- Administration and institutional management, focused on change processes, collaborative work of teachers, management by processes, management of collective knowledge and evaluation of results and effects
- Possibilities and limitations of ICT in education, providing examples and tools for adequate implementation.
- Teacher professional development, linked to curricular development and organizational development.
This activity is It is part of the UAB Study Abroad program, which allows students to participate in regular courses that have previously been defined with their institutions of origin.
