Joaquín Gairín and Cecília I. Suárez coordinate the report about trends in educational policies on human rights and inclusion. Implications in the management of Ibero-American institutions of higher education"

RedAGE, as it does every year, publishes this new annual report entitled "Trends in educational policies on human rights and inclusion. Implications in the management of Ibero-American institutions of higher education".

This contribution focuses on university policies linked to equity and respect for human rights. It includes the vision of 37 specialists from 12 Latin American countries, who talk about how human rights and inclusion are understood and applied in their IES, from the perspective of social justice. Their contributions, which must be contextualized in the educational particularities of their countries (already presented in previous RedAGE reports), present the general and normative aspects that affect the subject, the ways in which attention to human rights is organized and the demands of inclusion., some significant experiences that can be understood as good practices and, finally, some reflections, challenges and proposals that are made for the country of reference.

Its orientation is clearly practical and is linked to the annual meeting that RedAGE held on March 8 and 9, 2017 in the city of Sao Paulo (Brazil). There, the representatives of the member organizations selected the subject for their current interest (with a clear link to the improvement of university systems), agreed on the structure of the contributions and made an exchange of possible ideas on the subject.

This covers, as on previous occasions, the fundamental purpose of RedAGE, such as promoting the exchange of experiences, the promotion of knowledge about educational administration and management, and reflection on the practice of management. The ultimate goal remains to improve the functioning of educational institutions (and, through them, the educational systems and the social system), trying to be of quality and an instrument for professional and social change.
