Programa MIF

Members of the EDO-UAB group participates in the program of Improvement and Innovation in Teacher Training (MIF).
The director of the group EDO-UAB Joaquín Gairín participates in the Coordinating Council and professor and member of Carme Armengol participating in the Technical Committee Program and Best Innovation in Teacher Training (MIF).
The MIF Program is a coordinating body of the Catalan universities with the function of contributing to the improvement of initial training of teachers. To this end, promotes research in university teaching in grades teachers, offers grants for international mobility of university teachers masters degrees, encourages the exchange of experiences and activities launched for discussion and dissemination of the enclosed initial training of teachers.
The main objectives are:
- Contribute to the improvement of initial teacher training.
- Achieving a better balance between quantitative and qualitative supply and demand for professionals in primary education.
- Accompany the process of implementation of the pilot offer a double degree in primary education, universities that want to offer it.
- Monitoring and evaluating the dual degree, as well as other initiatives to improve the training of teachers.
- To facilitate the international mobility of students and teachers to promote innovative experiences that contribute to improving the quality of teacher training.
- Build a space for consultation and documentation, international perspective, experiences and models of teacher training.
- Facilitate analysis and debate on the training of teachers, based on the assessment of the current model and international trends.
The bodies in which the EDO members are involved have different tasks. The Coordinating Council is responsible for formulating proposals for improvement and innovation in teacher training and to propose actions, as well as establish criteria to identify innovative experiences that contribute to the improvement of teacher training. Meanwhile, the Technical Committee has the function of providing information, documentation, technical studies and work and raise proposals for consideration by the Coordination Council.
