Georgeta Ion, researcher at CRiEDO, will present the paper “Fostering Evidence-Informed Practices: Effects of a Researcher-Led Professional Development Program in Spanish Schools”, co-authored with Anna Díaz-Vicario, at the symposium Inquiry-Based Working in Education in Relation to Curriculum Redesign Efforts.
The paper shares findings from the PBETools professional development program, implemented in 19 early childhood and primary schools in Catalonia and Madrid during the 2019–2020 academic year. Led by researchers from UAB and UCM, the program promotes evidence-informed educational practices through collaboration between teachers and researchers.
Results show that participating teachers demonstrated greater motivation and capacity to apply evidence-based practices, particularly in collaborative learning contexts. This research highlights the value of researcher-led programs in driving educational change.
