On November 19, 2025, during the 4th CRiEDO Conference, Pablo Lermanda was awarded an honorable mention in the second edition of the CRiEDO Awards for Final Degree and Master’s Theses (TFG and TFM) in the field of Innovation and Development of Educational and Training Institutions.
These awards recognize the excellence of works aimed at analyzing and improving educational institutions, in line with CRiEDO’s research areas: evidence-based educational practice, digital environments, organizational management and improvement, inclusion, professional development, and educational change.
The distinguished Master’s Thesis, “Actions of the Department of Municipal Education Administration: Analysis of Facilitators and Barriers in the Case of the Municipality of Cunco (Chile)”, was part of the Master’s Degree in Educational Research at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and supervised by Dr. José Luís Muñoz Moreno. The study analyzes the actions of Cunco’s DAEM and its contribution to educational improvement in a rural and intercultural context. Through a qualitative case study with data triangulation (document analysis, questionnaires, and interviews), it identifies initiatives in pedagogical support, emerging innovation, and territorial coordination, limited by a lack of diagnosis, strategic planning, and evaluation culture. The research proposes moving toward participatory, transparent, and pedagogically oriented models.
