New Speaker in CIEDO16

George Siemens from TEKRI Athabasca University will be the first speaker of CIEDO 2016 Conference.
George Siemens, researcher in TEKRI Athabasca University in Canada will offer the first lecture of the Congress CIEDO 2016, and it will be about Big Data and Learning Analytics. George Siemens is a theorist in teaching in digital environments. He has published some papers about the topic, such as “Connectivism: A learning theory for the Digital Age”, and the book “Knowing Knowledge”, an exploration of the impact of the changed context and characteristics of knowledge. Before he started to work at Athabasca University, he held a post as the Associate Director of “Learning Technologies Centre” at the University of Manitoba (Canada).
The speech that George Siemens will make is in the framework of one of the key working areas of the CIEDO16 Conference precisely called “Big Data and Learning Analytics”. The other working areas of the Conference are: Situated learning, Connected learning, Intentional informal learning, Creation and management of corporate knowledge and new learning methodologies.
