The INDUCTEACHING project team has produced a new free and open publication with a synthesis of the most significant contributions of the project.
This publication is a synthesis of the INDUCTEACHING project and its most significant contributions, trying to give an overview of all that has been done and achieved, while informing about the mechanisms that allow access to the accumulated knowledge. The aim of this publication is not only to disseminate the project and its products, but also to encourage and offer tools, materials and resources to schools and educational agents, with the ultimate goal of contributing to the development and improvement of the processes and mechanisms of transition to the teaching profession in primary education, while contributing to the identity and professional development of teachers (trainee and novice). The document should be understood as a general approach to the improvements that can be made in the strategic actions to accompany the transition to the teaching profession, the construction of an identity as a teacher and the professional development of teachers, advising to deepen the aspects that are of interest from the documentation generated and referenced in the text itself.
The INDUCTEACHING project (The transition to teacher training: Validation of a proposal for a teacher induction model linked to the initial and first year of primary teacher training) is proposed as an initiative that contributes to the provision of evidence for this strategic change and improvement of initial teacher training, specifically in Primary Education, focusing on the transition to the teaching profession (from the last year of initial training and with continuity to the first year of professional teaching practice), through the creation of a collaborative network (face-to-face and virtual) between schools and universities working on the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and validation of induction processes to the profession.
