On November 19, 2025, the Autonomous University of Barcelona will host the IV CRiEDO Conference, an academic gathering that this year focuses on school dropout in vocational education and the transformative role of educational guidance.
The event will feature a keynote address by Irene Psifidou, Principal Expert at the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP), titled “From the risk of early school leaving to academic success: the role of guidance in vocational education policies in Europe.”
With over two decades of experience at CEDEFOP, Psifidou has led strategic EU projects focused on inclusion, excellence, and the professional development of vocational education teachers and trainers. Her work has been instrumental in the creation of tools such as the VET Toolkit for tackling early leaving, the Toolkit to empower NEETs, and the new European Vocational Teacher Survey (EVTS), which provide valuable data to improve educational policies across Europe.
During her presentation, Irene will share insights on how guidance and mentoring can help reduce educational inequalities, especially in contexts like Spain, where dropout rates vary significantly across autonomous communities.
The IV CRiEDO Conference will also include a roundtable with sector professionals, discussion spaces, and the presentation of the CRiEDO Awards for Educational Innovation and Final Degree Projects.
At CRiEDO, we are delighted to welcome Irene Psifidou, a leading figure in the European arena, whose vision and experience will enrich the debate on the current challenges in vocational education.
