The new book "Prácticas educativas basadas en evidencias. Reflexiones, estrategias y buenas prácticas " is now available.

his book, edited by Joaquín Gairín and Georgeta Ion, compiles the existing knowledge in our context on the improvement proposal based on basing educational practices on evidence. It collects research results and international and national theoretical contributions, which support the reflections that are made. Also, and seeking to promote and promote this approach little known and developed in Spain, it proposes strategies and instruments to do so, as well as good practices, identified in the educational centers that practice it; trying to support its implementation and development in other educational institutions.

Promoting and driving change and improving education is a permanent task that is not always accompanied by the desired success. And it is that there are multiple factors and circumstances that influence, and varied the intervention alternatives that hinder, rather than favour, a common and maintained vision of change.

In this sense, Evidence-Based Educational Practice (EBP) can be considered as an educational approach shared by teachers when designing and developing their teaching practice, contributing their experience and supporting it in reflection and in a greater foundation of its activity. Its approaches and developments include intervention strategies and procedures that are linked to reflective practice and try to overcome it, support it with internal or external research data, and achieve sustainability of the most successful educational actions.

This publication has been possible within the framework of the PBE-Tools project (ref. EDU2017-88711-R), the purpose of which has been to promote and promote evidence-based educational practices by generating resources for teachers and educational teams to transfer and use research education for the improvement of non-university educational centres, from a collaborative approach and research communities. Among its objectives were: (1) to analyze the current practices of transfer and use of educational research in the practice of educational centres and (2) to design, validate and implement strategies and resources for the effective use of research in educational practice.

The line started with the PBE-Tools project remains open through the project 'EIPSI - Evidence-Informed Practice for School Inclusion' funded by the Erasmus + program of the European Union (ref. 2020-1-SE01-KA201- 082328 ). EIPSI aims to design, prototype, and test innovative solutions for teachers and other education professionals, such as educational counsellors, inspectors, public administrators, and/or delegates, to improve equity and inclusion of students through the use of practices based on evidence.
