Ecotons-La Escocesa Research Scholarship

The artist Gemma Paris (CRiEDO-UAB) and the artist Rosa Llop have been awarded the Ecotons - La Escocesa 2022 Research Grant. The artists will develop the project in collaboration with scientists from the CREAF Research Center of the UAB (https:// www.creaf.cat) and with artists from the La Escocesa Art Center in Barcelona (https://www.laescocesa.org).

In the project Tiempo en el Bosque, the artists want to question accelerated time by contrasting it with the extensive and cyclical experience of time in the landscape, where nothing is urgent or forever. Understanding that time is a social construction and that therefore we can conceptualize it in different ways, they want to search in the temporalities offered by the biodiversity of the forest, evidence of how to live the passage of time in a more sustainable, imprecise and connected way.

The jury highlighted that the use of drawing as a form of knowledge has been very interesting and that the proposal was clearly stated.
