Conference on Research in the dropout and persistence of university students

The conference, which is part of "persistence and droupoutduring the first year of university in social sciences: foundations for improving retention" (EDU2009-10351) will be inaugurated by Maria Angels Marin (Director of the Department MIDE of UB) and Pilar Figuera (Coordinator of the research team TRALS).

Then will be a conference entitled "Emerging lines in the study of university dropout and persistence in the North American context", which will be held by Dr. Alberto F. Cabrera from the University of Maryland.

From 11:30 to 13:30, it will be time for the Roundtable Discussion on "transition and persistence in the Catalan University" which will be coordinated by Prof. Sebastian Rodriguez Espinar with participation of Juana Maria Sancho (Research Group of Esbrina , University of Barcelona), Jose Luis Munoz (Organizational Development Team, Autonomous University of Barcelona), Sandra Fachelli, Albert Sanchez and Marina Ustrell (Research Group of GRET , University of Barcelona), Max Turull and Bertha Rock (study Group of "dropout and absenteeism of studies during the  first-year of Law School", University of Barcelona), Albert Batalla ("social policy and access to university" project at the Faculty of Teachers' Education, University of Barcelona), Angels Alegre (Student Centre, University of Barcelona) and Pilar Figuera (Research Group of TRALS , University of Barcelona).
