Celebration Multiplier Event and last meeting of the BioYouth project in Turkey

On February 22, the Multiplier Event was held at the Ataköy International Youth Center in Istanbul.

On February 22, professor Aleix Barrera and Jordi Codina, both members of CRiEDO, traveled to Istanbul to attend the final conference of the BioYouth project. The aim of this event was to spread the word about the project and the results obtained. In the case of CRiEDO-UAB, Aleix Barrera presented the new skills and competences of biologically based industries.

Taking advantage of this meeting, on February 23 and 24, the project partners also held the last general coordination meeting with the aim of making a final assessment of the project, as well as planning the last actions to be developed before the date of finalization of this.

The project “BioYouth – Enhanced Capacity of the Youth on Biobased Economy (2021-1-TR01-KA22-YOU-00029205)”, is financed under the Erasmus + program and is coordinated by the International Agricultural Training Center linked to the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkey. This project starts from the current world context where resources are finite, there are global environmental problems and there is a large population growth that forces us to look for new forms of production and consumption respecting the ecological limits of our planet. The need to achieve sustainability ends with a strong demand to modernize our industries and strengthen Europe’s position in a highly competitive global economy. To meet these challenges, countries need to improve and innovate approaches in the industry and service sectors by replacing synthetic material derived from fossil fuels with bio-based material.

BioYouth focuses mainly on the context of Turkey, and its main objectives are (1) to design occupational profiles in the field of the Bioeconomy, (2) to raise awareness among young people about possible career paths, current and innovation networks in the sector and (3) deploy training content and some useful tools for workers.
