BIOBec project newsletter

The BIOBec project publishes its Newsletter 1 to inform you of all its news and activities.
The BIOBec project seeks to promote training in bioeconomy. It proposes a framework that merges the traditional idea of a training center with a knowledge node. The project will establish multi-tier Bio-Based Training Centers (BBECs) to act as knowledge nodes bridging the gaps between academic institutions, students, innovation entities and policy makers. Furthermore, BBECs are expected to be flexible enough to respond to the current and future needs of the industry and the surrounding local, regional and national ecosystem.
This project is aligned with the BBI roadmap with the aim of increasing cooperation between the Bio-Industry and the educational system to avoid skills shortages in this sector. This new project gives continuity to the UrBIOfuture project, which was coordinated by EDO-UAB in the 2019-2020 period, whose objective was to identify the existing GAP between the skills required in the bioeconomy sector and those offered in educational institutions in professional and university training.
