From 11st to 15th March, the first face-to-face phase of the training for teachers of the QUEST project will take place.

In the coming days, from 11st to 15th March, the first face-to-face phase of pre-university education teacher training will begin, within the framework of the QUEST project - Quality Essential Skills for Teachers in Online Learning.

This is the first face-to-face meeting of the group of QUEST teachers, made up of 17 primary and secondary school teachers from France, Norway, Romania and Catalonia. Through training, planned following a methodology based on gammification and taught by facilitators from Newschool (Norway) and the Romanian Angel Appeal Foundation (Romania), teachers will develop their online teaching skills related to (1) the development of security and confidence for online communication, (2) presentation and social skills, (3) classroom management to encourage student participation and (4) motivation to learn and develop teaching competence. It will also be an opportunity to start creating a network of transforming teachers to give continuity to the learning and reflections that emerged during the training.

The QUEST project has been designed to respond to the training and digital learning needs of teachers from the 4 partner countries and reflects the interest and strategic approach towards innovation, the development of high-quality learning content of the partners of the consortium and its strategic objectives of association within the Erasmus+ Program. Its objectives are:

  • O1: Academic and collaborative development of 5 e-learning modules that address the essential skills for quality online learning (online presence, interaction and dialogue, gamification, instructional design, feedback and evaluation).
  • O2: Creation of a European network of teacher trainers for online learning composed of 18 teachers who participate in an advanced course consisting of 10 days of training, feedback loops with end users (students and teachers at a local level) and conducting thematic webinars.
  • O3: Increase the skills of more than 2,450 teachers so that they can teach higher quality online classes that address the attraction, interactivity and academic progress of students. The project management framework consists of 7 activities, 4 consortium meetings, monitoring and evaluation actions and a coherent communication and dissemination component.
