The first face-to-face coordination meeting of the INTERSTICE project - Encounters between artists, children and educators (Ref. 2020-1-ES01-KA203-082989) will be held on November 17 with the aim of monitoring the activities carried out up to moment, as well as to plan and work on the development of the activities that will be carried out in the coming months of the project. Likewise, during the week of November 17 to 21, the project partners will participate in a training activity promoted within the framework of the VI International Festival of Arts for Early Childhood organized by LaSala, an entity associated with the project. The project, coordinated by Silvia Blanch and Gemma Paris, has received a global grant of €295,604.00 from the European Union. It aims to influence the improvement of the training of university students developing to be teachers of Early Childhood Education and Primary Education by incorporating innovative experiences that intertwine art and education through learning between students, artists, teachers and children. These innovations promote inclusive creative artistic experiences for university students to influence the child population, especially those who are more vulnerable and who have fewer opportunities to experience quality proposals.

Starting from the experience and positive results carried out in different partner educational and cultural institutions, it is intended to expand this innovation model of the different European countries that participate. The results of the project include different products and educational materials that will facilitate the training and implementation of experiences for university students so that they, in turn, can train teachers and other education professionals, together with artists, to be able to include the art of integrated way in the university and other educational and cultural institutions. General objectives:

  • Improve the level of aptitudes and competences of the students of the degree of infant and primary education of the universities of the consortium, training them in the development of quality aesthetic practices in the context of childhood.
  • Permanently bring quality contemporary art to pre-school and primary schools, improving creativity and critical thinking in boys and girls.
