On the 12th and13th of December has taken place the follow-up meeting of ACCESS4ALL in the University of Bristol (UK).

ACCESS4ALL project “Laboratory for Policies and Practices of Social Development in Higher Education” started officially last September the 1st 2015. In this meeting, where professors del group EDO-UAB Marina Tomàs and David Rodríguez, the main goal was to analyse the current project state and 2017 actions and outputs. Specially, actions related to the creation of the self-assessment tool, the strategic plan model and design of the training programme. In addition, this meeting allowed to review administrative issues such as: time schedules, work packages, A4A website and the project’s social media.  

The project, coordinated by EDO-UAB, and funded by European Commission through Erasmus Plus program (Ref. 2015‐1‐ES01‐KA203‐015970), joins forces with Univerity of Bristol (UK), la Università degli Studi di Bergamo (Italy), la Universitatea din Bucareşti (Rumania), el Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (Portugal) y la Jyväskylän Yliopisto (Finland).

The main objective that pursues the project is to Foster equity and inclusion facilitating Access to students in a disadvantage situation and with less opportunities tan their equals; and it is addressed in 4 specific objectives: (1) to establish a map with the institutional policies for attending to vulnerable groups in relation to academic access and success; (2) to establish guidelines to be implemented by higher education organizations to promote initiatives aimed to encourage the access and successful development of students who are under-represented in universities; (3) to co-create strategies and measures promoting the access, permanence (and success) of vulnerable students and non-traditional learners at university; (4) to create a laboratory for the creation of innovative and flexible strategies in order to promote social commitment of Higher Education institutions in relation with the most vulnerable student groups.
