The Ibero-American Education Conference -EIDE is a forum for international and intercultural reflection on the challenges posed to education, with the aim of generating new ideas and knowledge in a global society. The trajectory of EIDE got their start in 2006, when the University Alcalá -UAH- in Spain and São Paulo State University “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” -UNESP- Brazilian academic rman agreement and technical cooperation, cientí_ca, aiming disseminate knowledge in the area of education.
The event has alternated their headquarters between the two promoters universities until 2012, when it was held in Santiago de Chile, organized by the Foundation Creating Future, Carlos Casanueva Professional Institute and the Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences. Just as happens with EIDE 2014, to be held in Colombia, in the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga – UNAB – between 5 and 8 November
The impact of EIDE, over eight years in the making, can be measured by the amount of people that have gathered around the site – a total of 4,789 participants with 2,266 communications as well as academics and government specially invited to discuss education in Latin America. The experiences and analysis of the theoretical references that guide educational policy and practice in the context of countries like Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal and Uruguay make active part of the meeting, providing socialization new agreements for multilateral cooperation and the formation of research groups in international issues.
The objectives of the meeting are:
- Disseminate knowledge in the area of education.
- Establish links knowledge sharing among Latin American countries.
- Build national and international research projects.
- Expand the links in post-graduate courses in Education.
- Promote the exchange of students and teachers.
