This conference aims to unite the international engineering community to directly help and shape the future of our societies. In the framework of the ASCENT project we try to connect engineers, students, academics and companies while we discuss and review relevant engineering issues. Bringing these target groups together allows us to enrich the international ASCENT Network. The ASCENT project was born from the current development in the automotive industry in Latin America. Argentina and Mexico are two countries in the growth phase in this market, while in Brazil the industry is currently stagnant due to the limited capacity to react to new market demands. However, the three countries are the most important for the automotive industry in Latin America with a strong focus especially on production. Even so, these countries and the companies working in the territory share the same need: the increase of automotive engineering experts to increase development and production capabilities. In other words, ASCENT aims to contribute to the training of highly qualified engineers in the participating Latin American countries.
This conference will provide a dynamic and informal virtual venue. A variety of trends and challenges related to automotive engineering will be presented and discussed in an interdisciplinary and creative environment. The focus will be on current trends such as lightweight design, industry 4.0, connectivity, as well as practices experienced in different contexts involving the role of mechanics in contributing to the development of social, economic and environmental perspectives in the field of automotive engineering.
The UAB supports UNS in the development and planning of strategic dissemination together with all other EU partners. Due to the large international network, the UAB disseminates the project through appropriate existing contacts, focusing on government contacts.
