The International Congress on Education and Innovation (CIEI) will hold its 19th edition from May 6 to 8, 2026, reaffirming itself as one of the most relevant events in the field of educational research and innovation.
The event will take place in a hybrid format, with an in‑person venue at the Riga Technical University Liepaja Academy, in the city of Liepāja, Latvia, and with the possibility of virtual participation. Under the theme “Transforming Education for a Shared Future”, the congress will bring together researchers, teachers, professionals, and students interested in the current challenges of the educational system and in the possibilities offered by innovative methodologies. This event, promoted by the AREA Research Group (Analysis of Educational Reality) at the University of Granada, with LYDERA as the collaborating entity in 2026, has established itself as an international benchmark after exceeding 2,000 participants per edition since 2019, growing into a key meeting and debate space for educational transformation. Previous editions —held in cities such as Granada, Coimbra, Florence, Yucatán, Santiago de Chile, and Guatemala City— had already highlighted the international and itinerant nature of the congress.
With this new edition, CIEI aims to continue fostering reflection, knowledge transfer, and collaboration among the different actors in the educational field. The congress also seeks to generate new lines of debate on teaching innovation, the use of educational technologies, inclusion, and the development of key competencies for the 21st century. Ultimately, it is a space that invites us to rethink the future of education from a global and transformative perspective.
