Betty Abaroa Godoy, professor at North Catholic University (Chile) visits the EDO group from November 28th to December 1st 2011.

EDO group regularly receives visits of teachers and researchers who are interested in the research and activities which it carries on. In this condition, Prof. Betty Abaroa Godoy, professor at the North Catholic University(Chile), is going to visit the EDO group in order to contrast experiences aimed at supporting academic and continuing education of teachers of higher education in  the context of implementation of European Tunning project.

Betty Abaroa Godoy is a pre-school educator, graduated from Pontifica Catholic University of Chile. She took a postgraduate course programme in Education and had a diploma in University Teaching from University of La Serena. She graduate from the Ph.D. program in Educational Sciences from the same university. She has taught Professional Ethics, General Teaching, other related courses, and teachers´guide in undergraduate thesis. She has participated in counseling centres of support and consultancy for teachers, especially in curriculum design and instructional planning. She is currently Coordinator of Educational Innovation in the Centre of Methodological and Technological Innovation, Cimet, in North Catholic University, Coquimbo, Chile. The center manages the support and advice to the professionals and teachers in the implementation of competency-based curriculum design explained in the institutional education project.

During her stay, Professor Abaroa will conduct interviews with professor including Joaquin Gairín, Marina Thomas, Carme Armengol and Monica Feixas, all EDO team members, and Pere Rue and Joan Marques, both from the Department of Applied Education at the UAB, and Dolors Marquez , coordinator for teachers´ training and research and innovation at UAB.
