The FUESE project takes a step forward with the publication of its first newsletter, a key tool to keep all interested parties informed about its activities and progress.
The project “FUESE – Strengthening Extension in the Social Ecosystem of Universities in Central America”, is a collaboration between 12 Central American institutions and two European ones. CRiEDO participates as main partner and coordinates WP 2 (Collaboration and Internationalization). The work team is made up of Aleix Barrera, Diego Castro (UAB Coordinator), Joaquín Gairín and Cecilia Inés Suárez. With this project, CRiEDO consolidates its leadership in the region and its relations with UDELAS, which coordinates the project.
The main objective of the FUESE project is to strengthen the impact of higher education institutions on the socioeconomic ecosystem. This objective is intended to be achieved through the evaluation of the impact and the transformation of institutional policies and practices.
With a duration of three years (until December 2026) and a financial envelope of €794,340.00, the proposal was presented at Erasmus-EDU-2023, Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education. This project aims to install new capabilities in higher education institutions in Central America.
The project is based on the concept of Culture of Equity, which can be realized, among others, through the policies and practices of University Extension. Its mission is aimed at the development of Socioeconomic Capacities in the cultural, socio-community promotion, employability and entrepreneurship of Objectively Vulnerable Target Groups. This is done by capitalizing on the knowledge, transfer and innovation of the university context with the collaboration of the private sector. In this way, the Social Impact of higher education institutions can be strengthened.
