Chris Brown and Beatriz Pont have obtained the Maria Zambrano grant to join CRiEDO during the years 2022 and 2024.

With the aim of promoting the internationalization of young doctors, promoting the mobility of teaching staff and attracting international talent, the UAB announces three types of aid through the 17.5 million euros granted by the Ministry of Universities within the call for requalification of the Spanish university system 2021-2023.

The Ministry of Universities has awarded the UAB a subsidy of 17.5 million euros within the call for aid for the requalification of the Spanish university system. On the one hand, these have materialized with the Margarita Salas grants for the training of young doctors and the grants for the requalification of official or contracted university professors allow them to carry out stays in other Spanish and foreign universities. On the other, with the María Zambrano grants, which facilitate the attraction of international talent at the UAB. These last ones allow the incorporation in the UAB of personnel with postdoctoral trajectory accumulated in foreign universities and research centers. Among other requirements, an accumulated postdoctoral career of not less than 24 months is requested in universities or research centers other than the institution where the doctoral thesis was defended, and be developing research projects and/or teaching in universities, centers and organizations outside of Spain.

It is within the framework of the María Zambrano grants that the Center for Research and Studies for Organizational Development will incorporate, as of September 2022, Professor Chris Brown (University of Durham), and as of January 2022, Dr. Beatriz Pont ( OECD).

Chris Brown is Professor of Education in the Durham University School of Education and Associate Executive Dean (Research) in the School of Health and Social Sciences. His research interests focus on: educational leadership; improve educational provision through the use of evidence-based policies and practices; Professional Learning Networks (PLNs) as mechanisms for developing and expanding effective educational practice; and network approaches to reduce educational disadvantage. Since 2019, he is a member of the Board of the International Congress for School Improvement and Effectiveness (ICSEI). He is also co-founder and coordinator of the ICSEI Professional Learning Networks research network. He has been program chair of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). He has won the 2015 American Educational Research Association "Emerging Scholar" award; the 2016 AERA Excellence in Research to Practice Award and the 2016 UCEA Jeffrey V. Bennett Outstanding International Research Award.

Beatriz Pont is a Senior Education Policy Analyst at the OECD and also Associate Professor of Politics of Comparative Education at the Sciences Po School of International Affairs. Pont has worked in the field of educational policy and reform and school leadership internationally throughout her career. Under the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills, he leads the Implementing Education Policy in OECD Countries programme, and has worked in countries including Austria, Iceland, Ireland, Estonia, Greece, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Sweden and the UK. Kingdom (Wales and Scotland) in their educational reforms. She has a doctorate in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master's in International Relations from Columbia University and a degree in political science from Pitzer College (Claremont, California). She has been a visiting researcher at LIEPP, Science Po, Paris, and at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Tokyo. She has received an Honorary Doctorate from Sheffield Hallam University. She is an expert at the Atlantic Rim Collaboratory and is part of several councils, such as the European Society and Education Foundation or the council of the European Journal of Education.

Both incorporations will have a duration of 24 months and will serve to enhance the work in the current research lines of CRiEDO, especially those linked to the use of evidence in educational practice, as well as the leadership and management of educational institutions and training.
