Research on Digital Education and Wellbeing

CRiEDO researchers Cristina Mercader and Laia Alguacil participated in the WFATE Biannual Conference 2025 and the ATEE Spring Conference, two leading international events in the field of teacher education and educational innovation.

As part of these events, Laia Alguacil presented part of the findings from her doctoral thesis, which focuses on the digital competence of school-based educational organizations in Catalonia. The study provides an updated view of the digital development level of educational institutions and their capacity to address current technological challenges in education.

In addition, the researchers presented the initial results of the project “Connected and Aware: Higher Education Network to Identify Students’ Perceptions of Screen Use and Its Effects on Health.” This project aims to analyze how university students perceive the intensive use of digital devices and the implications this may have on their physical and emotional wellbeing.

CRiEDO’s participation in these international conferences reinforces the center’s commitment to applied research and knowledge transfer on key issues for educational and digital transformation.
