The UAB Governing Council approves the creation of the Centre for Research and Studies for Organizational Development.

The teaching and research activity linked to the analysis and development of organizations in general, and of educational organizations in particular, is proposed at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Since then, a growing activity has been carried out in this and other State universities that respond to the demands for training in issues of management and direction of training institutions and the progressive development of related research topics, which allow the empowerment of the school autonomy and educational decentralization processes.

The current Organizational Development Group (EDO) is the culmination of a process of more than two decades. It constitutes a space for meeting, exchanging and promoting ideas and research on the nature and development of organizations dedicated to training. Authorized as ANE group (Specific Name Authorization) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1999 and recognized as a consolidated research group (Resolution of the Department of Universities, Research and Information Society). On October 18, 2005, the recognition was renewed in the call for the year 2009 (SGR2009-397), 2014 (2014SGR-176) and currently maintains as of the resolution September 2018 (2017SGR-00318).

As a result of the growth of recent years, the creation of a Research and Studies Centre was proposed as a research entity of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and regulated by its internal regulations, the approval of which was made based on agreement 5.1 of the Council of Government of the UAB held on July 21, 2020. The purpose of the Centre for Research and Studies for Organizational Development (CRiEDO) is the study, research, teaching and any other action and activity related to the organizational development of training organizations. More specifically, the general objective of CRiEDO is to provide a service of the highest quality and social commitment aimed at the improvement, innovation and development of organizations dedicated to training, based on processes of scientific reflection and analysis, design and implementation of actions aimed at improvement and institutional evaluation and diagnosis processes.

Along these lines, the CRiEDO operating regulations foresee that it can organize and develop research, training and transfer of knowledge and culture, and offer institutional, administrative and logistical support for the development of other interdisciplinary research, training and transfer activities. in any institutionalized environment or context where educational practices and training actions are developed. Likewise, it can collaborate with other centers, institutions or entities external to the UAB and its activities, exclusively its own or in collaboration with other entities, can be carried out both on and off the UAB campus.

In the coming weeks we will work to give you more information on how CRiEDO will be organized, as well as its main lines of action, related personnel, etc.
