Report about the Raval Family and Children Care Network

Members of the EDO group, as external experts, have participated in the impact assessment of the XAFIR Project.
The Organizational Development Team (EDO) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, responded to the task of the XAFIR Project Team to carry out an external evaluation focused on the impact of the project, both among professionals working in the various services which brings together the XAFIR, as among the children and families of the Raval, the last target of the intervention of professionals.
Joaquín Gairín, Edgar Iglesias, Anna Díaz and Saida López, members of the EDO and as external experts, have designed and carried out the project evaluation process. Beyond assessing the impact of the Project and making concrete contributions that allow decision-makers to take action, the evaluation shows the key conditions that allow networks of professionals in the field of social intervention to be sustainable over time and respond to needs of the territory.
The Raval Family and Children Care Network (XAFIR), since its creation 11 years ago, aims to improve the quality of life of Raval children and families in different areas (social, educational, health and leisure), improving also the coordination, cooperation and communication between the professionals of the territory that take part in different programs. Its objectives are:
- Provide a transversal response to the needs of the families of the territory.
- Increase awareness of the reality of childhood and family.
- Facilitate cooperation between services and entities.
