Reflections for educational improvement

Professors Marina Tomàs and José Luis Muñoz have recently published the article "Ideas for the improvement of education in Catalonia today and tomorrow" in the Catalan Journal of Pedagogy.

The article presents the main results of a research that analyses the political and educational reality from a systemic perspective of education. Revision of the educational legislation, educational proposals of the political formations that obtained parliamentary representation in the elections of the 27^th of September in 2015, contributions of social movements and contributions of experts, help to delimit some ideas-axis that will guide the role of education, the educational administration, the educational inspection and the financing of education in the Catalan educational system. Along with the legislative review and the analysis of documents, two discussion groups have been held with the participation of different actors and protagonists of the educational community. The main results obtained allow us to conclude, among other issues, the need to review the role of education in our society and its administration, overcoming the dysfunctions that are currently observed and difficult the attainment of the challenges posed.
