Professor Marcia Lopes Reis finishes her stay in UAB

Dr. Marcia Lopes Reis has done an internship in the EDO Team of the Autonomous University of Barcelona between May 1 and October 30 of the year 2011, her stay particularly related to the "Sênior Stage" of the CAPES / MEC / Brazil for postdoctoral researchers.

The objectives of her stay have been doing in-depth analysis of practices of management of Spanish educational system from the perspective of managers and their teams as well as to identify and to analyse the processes of negotiation of educational policies in decentralized systems. Her stay also has a objective to get to know the model of planning of territorial management in which is participated by different kinds of institutions such as universities, municipalities or county councils. On the other hand, she also tried to discover the role that  innovation and educational research plays in the management processes in a comparative form in  the case of Spain, Chile and Brazil. This has allowed her to know the role of social technologies in the management processes based on practical experience as well as analysis of different strategies of training of teams of directors, delving into the perspective of these teams (their perceptions and opinions) according to the evaluation of her work around four dimensions: level of importance, functionality, regularity and conflict.

To achieve those proposed objectives she has carried out activities that emphasized on the sessions sessions of the theoretical reflection on management, exchange meetings with officials from different institutions, site visits, observation and analysis of experience and sessions of discussion and reflection with members of the EDO, in addition to the implementation and analysis of ad hoc research questionnaires.

As the result of his stay, Professor Reis Lopes has published two book chapters (in Spanish and Brazilian editions), an article in the journal REDEC, has introduced a work to a UVA International Congress and has conditional acceptance of two research articles for prestigious academic journals. His evaluation of EDO is positive, remarking his stay here as a useful tool to "deepen the theme of work, allowing me to know and explore other realities and structures under the focus of pedagogical analysis"
