Anna Díaz-Vicario defenses her doctoral thesis: "Comprehensive safety management in educational institutions: facilitators and barriers".

PhD candidate Anna Díaz-Vicario has defended her dissertation "Comprehensive safety management in educational institutions: facilitators and barriers", directed by PhD Joaquín Gairín Sallán from Autonomous University of Barcelona, in the framework of Doctoral Studies in Education (R.D 1393/2007).
The defense act took place last 14th of July at 11.30 o'clock, in the Grade Room of the Faculty of Science Education. The Dissertation Committee was composed by PhD Serafín Antúnez (Universitat de Barcelona) as president of the committee, PhD Carme Armengol (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) as secretary, and PhD Fabio Dovigo (Università degli studi di Bergamo, Italy) as chair.
Among the more significant results of her research, it is necessary to highlight: process of conceptualization and characterization of comprehensive school safety, study of managing comprehensive safety in educational institutions (from a theoretical and applied point of view), identification of factors that enhance and hinder managing of comprehensive safety in educational institutions, and a list of proposals for optimizing processes of school safety management. The study concludes with a model that identifies and put in relation the key elements that must be combined if we want to achieve true comprehensive safety management.
