On June 26th and 27th, the members of the CRiEDO Aleix Barrera and Cristina Mercader participated in the international meeting of the BIObec project, which was held in Ireland.
BIObec aims to build bridges between the bio-based industry and the education system by interlinking universities, innovation labs, and R&D centers with industrial actors and regions. In order to achieve this, the project proposes a holistic framework that merges the traditional idea of an education center, with that of a knowledge hub.
The CRiEDO team, a partner in this Horizon 2020 European Project, coordinates the development of the governance plans of the Bio-Based Education Centres. 6 centres are participating in this project. The main objective of these governance plans is to help manage the internal operations, staff expertise and data sharing within the organization and with its context. Therefore, the team has designed the following structure for the governance plans:
- The context of action, which includes a general description of the socioeconomic and regulatory context.
- Institutional purposes, which includes the mission and vision of the center, and main values that will guide its development.
- The operating structures, which includes information about the human resources structure, the material resources and functional resources.
- Management and operation, with information about how the center will be lead.
- The relational systems, which includes information about how the information will be managed within the center, and through its direct context.
- Institutional dynamics, that includes the most relevant aspects for the center day to day activities.
