New Paper Published
COPEC’s review “EIX” has published an article about the research “uses and abuses of ICT in adolescents”.
The review of the Pedagogues College of Catalonia “Education and Network” (EIX) has published its last issue where it’s included an article about a project funded by Mapfre about uses and abuses of ICT in adolescents, coordinated by Joaquín Gairín and Diego Castro, and which finished last 2014 with an open seminar at the Science Education Faculty of UAB.
This paper, written by EDO members Joaquín Gairín, Anna Díaz-Vicario & Cristina Mercader presents a handbook elaborated by the research group from the results of the study mentioned. Moreover, the article gathers an abbreviated description about uses of those ICT devices that adolescents use nowadays, what is the role that educational agents must undertake and how this handbook can be integrated in an educational centre. This guide sums up in ten key points the essential aspects of a fair use of technologies in adolescents and offers several advices addressed to specific groups of the educational community: families, educational institutions and adolescents.
