The title of the project is 'Self-assessment strategies for self-regulation of learning and teacher professional development'

The Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants has accepted the proposal for the provisional resolution of the call for research grants for the improvement of initial teacher training (ARMIF). The title of the project is 'Self-assessment strategies for self-regulation of learning and teacher professional development'

It is a research project that contributes to provide evidence on the implementation of teaching methodologies aimed at improving the systems of initial and ongoing training of teachers of early childhood education and primary education.

In this sense, the project aims to analyse, design, experiment, validate and evaluate the impact of self-assessment strategies of professional competences for the improvement of self-regulation of teacher learning.

Starting from this context, it seems fundamental to consolidate a quality model in teacher training that bases innovations on evidences and proven teaching practices. For this reason it is necessary to propose teaching proposals based on rigorous and applied research, as evidenced by the Program for the improvement and innovation of teacher training.

One of the most appropriate mechanisms to achieve this objective is evaluation, understood as the central axis of the teaching-learning process, in a favourable context for the development of professional competences.

However, documents prepared in this regard warn of a lack of generalization of evaluation strategies transferable to professional practice aimed at increasing the students’ involvement in their learning process, and with direct implications on their professional development. And that is why the need to carry out the project, led by Professor Georgeta Ion.
