On September 20th, Professor Joaquín Gairín inaugurated the academic year of the Network of Centers Promoting Literacy and Euskaldunization of the Adult Population of the Basque Country (HABE).
In his lecture titled “Improvement in Educational Organizations: Professionals and Organizations that Learn Permanently,” Gairín highlighted the constant challenges faced by educational organizations in a continuously changing world. He emphasized that these challenges become opportunities when addressed comprehensively, considering curricular, organizational, professional, and community development.
Gairín stressed the importance of enhancing and protecting innovation processes so that educational organizations not only improve their practices but also become entities that learn and generate new pedagogical knowledge. According to the professor, this process does not occur spontaneously but requires professionals and leaders to act as change agents, using strategies tailored to the specific needs of their context.
Continuous improvement in educational organizations, Gairín concluded, is a collective effort that demands commitment and long-term vision. With dedicated professionals and appropriate strategies, it is possible to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and lifelong learning.
